Unfortunately, even the best planned master-key systems can be compromised if certain keys are lost. In the past 20 years the physical security industry's approach has been to install a full blown access control system on critical doors with real-time surveillance. This can be a very costly endeavor especially where there is no existing architecture in place and cabling can be time consuming.

Recent developments in the manufacturing of traditional cylinders has allowed for the introduction of a solenoid powered by a battery on board a key. This assembly has been tested in several applications and with different manufacturers's key systems. We can now rekey many locks in minutes, without removal or without even a locksmith. A unique web-enabled software can even allow a remote operator to change privileges in a door through the use of a special key in seconds.
